I got to visit with a bunch of lovely ladies recently at the San Juan Weavers Guild Spin Day. This group meets the first Friday of each month at the Delta Gun Club in Delta, Colorado. They meet to spin yarn, share stories and have a little lunch. I hear they are a very dedicated group that will even meet on New Years Day if it falls on a Friday.
There were a total of 15 of us this day, we even had a mascot. It was a little hard to get Maggie to sit still for a photo but she was very friendly and loved to visit each one of us and our projects.
Right now I am working on spinning some lovely Llama fiber I got at the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival a couple years ago.
It was great to see all the different types of wheels everyone was using as well as all the lovely fiber.
One of the ladies shared her knowledge on different types of Linen fiber. I didn’t realize this could be so varied. She had samples of fiber we could feel.
I hope to make it to a couple more spin days before we leave the area in the fall.
